Decaying super heroes
Decaying super heroes
Ribcage opening up
Inside bursting out
Brief beauty
An instance
Frilly hair
Female scent
Overflowing
Oozing down the wall
In your face
Voluptuous
Fragile
Sensual
Sincere
& done
All of a sudden it seems so ridiculous – life
Trying to capture a moment
That in nature re-appears
Every year at about the same time
But trying to be in it & in it & in it
Not understanding that with time of beauty
Comes wilting, dying and re-birthing of the body
Staying young forever
What a nightmare
Like Groundhog Day over & over again
Flowers are not teenagers repeating themselves over & over again
They just make us feel like it
Plants begin as a twig, dressed in a few petals
Next year a little wiser than the last, a few new branches,
More flowers, stronger scent and a slightly weathered attitude.
A bend in the knees, an amputated stump but a stronger backbone
Handling the weight of wisdom gracefully
With still more knuckles standing out
Every year’s wisdom
Every year’s value
Hardly holding the head up
Shoulder sinking
Dragging arms
Reaching the dirt
Hair falling
Hairless
Howling
Bare
Cold
Naked
Grunting
& gone
